Bio

Pierre Klimt holds a PhD in public law from the University of Rennes 1 in France. He is a lecturer and trainer at several French higher education institutions where he teaches public law, business law, digital law, public policies and geopolitics. His lecturing and training activities are divided between ILERI Bordeaux, Sciences Po Rennes, Sciences Po Bordeaux, Sup' de Com Bordeaux, and ESSCA Bordeaux.

He is also an associate researcher at the Centre Émile Durkheim (UMR 5116 - CNRS, Sciences Po Bordeaux, Université de Bordeaux), at the IDPSP (UR 4640 Université de Rennes 1) as well as with the « Governance and regulation of social networks » (GRS) research program (Lab LEX – Université de Bretagne occidentale). He has authored publications in peer-reviewed journals, in the fields of constitutional law, digital law and behavioral sciences.

For several years, his lecturing and researching activities have been consistently conducted alongside and inspired by practitioner experiences. His interest in issues related to the governance of digital networks, their determinants, and legal implications arose during a three-year entrepreneurial experience during which he co-led the creation of a metaverse prototype: he explored the institutional potential of blockchain while designing a secured and participatory governance system for this virtual environment.

This keen interest now extends to other areas of legal tech, as he regularly contributes to the training of language models as a legal and academic expert and international senior reviewer. He also conveys this interest and expertise by participating in the preparation of candidates for higher French civil service examinations, especially in regard to the challenges of the digital transition of public administrations.
